Walrus is seeking a Chief Business Officer / Co-founder
About Walrus
Today, there is a massive gap at the heart of the electronic payments infrastructure: there is no way to pay someone and be sure you’re paying the right person. This situation is disastrous and unsustainable. Already, symptoms of the problem are manifold: most egregious is that fraudsters exploit this gap to the tune of $12b yearly and growing (CAGR: 129%). CFOs are terrified. They are trying to stave off calamity with manual processes that are simultaneously arduous and inadequate.
Walrus’s mission is to fill this void. We’re building the platform to enable the next generation of authenticated transactions. Our first step is an innovative product that verifies the safe transfer of financial information and assets using a combination of AI, proprietary authentication technology, and a novel UX. Every company that transfers money should be using it.
We have a team of amazing Computer Science professors and PhDs, are graduates of the top accelerator for B2B (Alchemist), and have funding from top-tier angels. We’ve built a great product: it’s secure and really easy to use. And our customers are LOVING it.
About the role
We’re looking for someone to join at the most senior level (up to founder-level responsibility and equity).
We’re a small team juggling many responsibilities. We need the CBO to lead GTM, market analysis, sales, partnership development, and marketing. You will share responsibility for closing key deals, budget, making strategic decisions, and guiding the evolution of the product. The CBO would not be as involved in the details of engineering, online operations, certifications, or intellectual property.
About you
You have driven these functions at early-stage startups before, or you’ve worked on them and are now ready to spearhead these efforts. You have 5-10 years’ experience in launching multiple new financial services products, ideally in payments. Some nice-to-haves are: product management experience and strong quantitative skills.
The bottom line
We have a fantastic team, an awesome product, and have signed early customers. If you’re looking to get in on the ground floor of a technology-based fintech startup, this is a great opportunity.
